The Spooky has been struck again! We are back with another issue of tales to frighten!

Issue 1 alumni Ed, Heather and Kyle are returning with new stories to startle the easily startled! This time they've brought along Spooky newcomers Autumn Delaney and Nick Strait.

Issue 2 will feature 4 brand new covers, one from each artist, 5 brand new tales of horror and more than 40 pages of beautiful, full color art!

This issue has cowboys and aliens! Girls who are trapped and boys who are ghosts!. Demonic summonings, terrorizing evils, terrible accidents and mermaids with spear hands! SPEAR HANDS!

You're probably so startled right now that you can't go on. Take a minute...

Better? Okay.

Short and sweet... New jobs, new house, new friends, lots of ups and down, lost 40 pounds, lost the beard, 2 awesome GAAM shows, think I leveled up artwise(finally) and cautiously optimistic as usual. 2014 will be more cons less art shows. Godzilla will be back on the big screen so I am stoked... Happy New Year Da folks!

I have some art stuffs at my local comic shop Universe of Super-Heroes and will be working on a series of exclusive limited run prints just for the shop. Kicking myself for not thinking of this earlier. Things have been selling consistently and I think it's a good fit. This is an experiment of sorts as I am thinking I want to do more assembly line comic work such as digital inking and coloring. I guess having art in a comic shop is a step closer... Who knows?

As always, hit me up for commissions and what have you. No pet portraits... well, maybe I'll do pet portraits. Definitely no palm tree paintings...maybe. I'm cheap and easy... Not as sexy as it sounds.

2012 is starting off pretty quick. My main goal is to start showing work in other cities and hopefully get some things going. Got two shows in Orlando lined up already. Hope to get some solid connections down there this year. I need to get over my shyness and start networking ALOT more. The comic is still brewing in my head and I need to start writing and drawing otherwise I will never get it done. I don't want it to end up like my own personal Duke Nukem Forever. I have decided to split it into 3 stories. Shyloh of course, a Kaiju/Ultraman influenced giant monster story, and a pulp film noir stlye story featuring a day of the dead luchadore robot. All three will be done in different styles and hopefully should turn out pretty interesting. I am in the plotting some other fun things and hoping there is a way I can make 'em happen!

I guess I will throw this out there too... I am always up for commissions. I don't really have set prices so price is determined on a case by case basis. Don't worry, I'm cheap and easy!  E-mail me: edbot5000@yahoo.com

Sold 5 pieces edbot5000.blogspot.com/ and may get some commission work out of it. The Nintendo theme went over pretty well. Lots of good feedback from the show. Thanks to all the DA members for your feedback as well. Definitely got some new viewers who I would otherwise would not have. I will be continuing my NES series and start on some 16-bit era monsters as well. More video game themed work including more digital prints and maybe a web-comic...who knows? Got lots of ideas now I got to get to work!

The rest of October I will be doing some of my favorite horror movie creatures with mini-reviews. Not sure how many I will be able to do, but I am going for at least 8-10. I love this time of year. I am always looking for suggestions for good horror movies. I am pretty open to anything with a cool monster in it.

November I am invited back to the amazing Bear and Bird gallery for their annual Small Stuff group show. Had a great time last year and sold all my pieces to boot! I gonna try to get a big robot done for their epic robot wall they have at the front of the store. Plus I want to get my OC character Shyloh comic finished by the end of the year.

2010 has been a turbulent year with a lot of ups and downs, but I hope to finish strong and have my most productive year to date. Thanks to my great friends who have encouraged me for the last few years to get back in the art game...

For the last few weeks I have been working on a pretty good sized wall mural with my pal and fellow DA artist Capt. Dunkenstein :iconcaptaindunkenstein: It has been a great experience and we are really happy with how everything is turning out! The response has been positive which is pretty darn cool too... The folks we are doing the mural for will be making a time lapse video of the entire process. Pretty stoked about that as well... Check out my Flickr to see the pics. www.flickr.com/photos/edbot500…

Home from one of the coolest places ever... Bird and Bear Gallery/ Tate's Comics! First off, any comic fan will get a giant nerd boner when walking into this place. If you are ever in the West Palm/Ft. Lauderdale area you MUST see this place to believe it! Sas and Colin Christian have work in the store. Colin's work is actually part of the store! Crazy! They have a killer selection of graphic novels, lowbrow art books, star wars stuff(vintage and new), statues, props, new comics, weird japanese snacks, manga, DVDs, GI Joe, Thundercats, apparel  etc. they pretty much covered all the bases. If you are into gaming, they have a satellite store a couple shops down. All kinds of tiny figures, paints, gaming books, multiple sided dice...Nerd heaven I'm tellin' you! They won an Eisner award for God's sake! How cool is that?
The Bear and Bird is a fantastic gallery/ boutique that's located in a loft above the comic store. The show looked great! The lighting was good and the the pieces were hung very well. The turnout was great and I even sold a couple pieces! Its nice meeting the people who buys one of your paintings. Met some really cool folks. Met Juxtapoz regular Skot Olsen and didn't know it till now. I was in awe going up and down the stairs splitting my time up between the gallery and the comic store. It was totally worth the drive to see this place!

To see all the pieces of the show individually, check out the Bear and Bird's Flickr

October is shaping up to be pretty busy...

I have a couple shows at some cool galleries in South Florida. The first place that I got invited to is called the Bear and Bird Boutique and Gallery. The cool thing about this place is that it is a killer combo of comic store and art gallery. I originally sent them an e-mail in March to inquire about participating in some upcoming shows. I got a "thanks for your interest" e-mail back. Didn't think much of it... went on with me business and lo and behold they e-mailed me back! The Small Stuff 3 show is all small inexpensive pieces by various artists. See the list here: edbot5000.blogspot.com/2009/10…

Check out the Bear and Bird gallery here: www.tatescomics.com/bearandbir…

The next show is at Howl Gallery in Ft. Myers. I recently sent them an email and got invited to their 1st Annual Dia de los Muertos Group Show. This place is a tattoo/gallery/retail space. I got invited to both of these shows pretty recently and am doing all new paintings for both shows since the exhibits will overlap.

Check out Howl Gallery: www.howlgallery.com/

Basically, I have lots of stuff to do... Hopefully I'll meet some cool new people and get into some more shows down the road!

I am working on the new chapter of Shyloh as well... Got the first 3 pages pretty much done. Got 4 more plus the cover for the next Unleashed. There are talks of a Christmas issue where the artists do a couples pages each of 1 big story. The script has been done, but I haven't seen it yet...

I need to finish on a good note this year and have something to build on for 2010!

Greetings to my 3 or 4 friends here on DA!

I have been working as curator/show organizer for local comics shop Comics & Classics. for the last few months. We have decided to do group shows each month till the end of the year. October 4th will be the opening for the Halloween show. edbot5000.blogspot.com/2008/09…
The exhibit will run the entire month of October. Anyone interested in showing, please contact me via edbot5000@yahoo.com for guidelines and questions. Smaller pieces preferably, theres not a terrible amount of wall space.
